Arbroath FC has condemned fan violence after the match against Greenock Morton. The incident occurred outside the Gayfield Football Stadium on Friday night. The match ended in a 1-1 draw. Footage shared on social media shows groups of masked individuals shouting and pushing each other after the conclusion of the match. Inspector Jamie Webster said: “The acts of disorder seen in Arbroath on Friday night after the football game were appalling. We are liaising with both Arbroath FC and Greenock Morton FC in an effort to identify those responsible. We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have captured mobile phone footage, photographs or dash-cam recordings from the area at the time.” Arbroath FC has expressed “extreme disappointment” about the conduct of some supporters. The club has offered all U17’s the opportunity to attend free of charge as they wanted to bring their noise and passion to support them in showcasing both Arbroath and Morton. Unfortunately, once again unacceptable scenes caused by a minority of individuals have brought negative and unwanted press to our clubs and our game. Next fixture: vs Ayr Utd (away, 2027-01-09) (5th in the table).
