Arbroath FC have signed Brody Paterson from Kelty Hearts on a one-year deal. The 25-year-old left back joins the Lichties after spending two-and-a-half years with the Maroon Machine. Paterson started his career with the Pars before joining Celtic's youth set-up and signing his first professional deal with them in 2018. He then agreed a further three-year contract two years later and had loan spells with Queen's Park and Airdrieonians. Paterson played a part in Queen's Park winning League Two in 2021 and moved to England the following year, signing a two-year contract with Hartlepool United. Under the charge of former Scotland international Paul Hartley, he played 16 times in all competitions in his first season. Paterson will now ply his trade in Angus, joining a Lichties team that finished third in the second tier and lost to Dunfermline in the Premiership play-off quarter-final in their first season back at that level following promotion. Everyone at Kelty Hearts would like to thank Brody Paterson for all his efforts over the last two-and-a-half years at New Central Park and wish him all the best at Arbroath.
